LEWE Training Course 'European Education for Sustainability - Innovation and Excellence' 1-8th September brings 14 international participants to Bristol and Machynlleth to learn about eco-centres and practical environmental education methods.

Siberian Wilds

This project aims to foster international friendship, co-operation and understanding of the great importance that the Siberian wilderness holds for the whole world, through an interactive and inspirational presentation about environmentalism in Siberia.

'Look East' and 'Greenway' Youth Environmental Study Visit to Georgia"

From September 26-30th 2007, 10 young environmentalists met in Tbilisi, Georgia, to find out more about environmental NGOs and youth projects in Georgia. Participants visited a range of enviornmental NGOs, a bio-farm and organic vinyard, and a National Park education centre. The visit was funded by the Youth in Action Programme of the EU and supported by the 'Youth and Environment Europe' network. The visited was co-ordinated by Georgian NGO Greenway and by Look East.

Energy Awareness in Russia

In Sept 2007 LEWE supported Baikal Enviornmental Wave to win a grant from the Society for Environmental Improvement (SEI) Trust for work on energy awareness education with local communities in Irkutsk, Russia. This follows an earlier grant from SEI Trust in 2005, which enabled us to send resources, books, DVDs and small solar devices such as battery chargers to support this work.

Study Visit to Devon and Bristol: "Sustainable Futures: Youth Participation in Local Agenda 21 and Local Sustainability projects"

In September 2006 Look East coordinated a study visit for 17 young people from Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Sweden, Turkey, and portugal. We visited local environmental projects in Devon and Bristol. Find out more here.
